Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children Partnership
ICON Week
ICON Week raises awareness of normal infant crying and supports parents, carers and professionals to better understand why babies cry and how to respond safely.
Crying is a normal part of infant development, but persistent crying can be stressful and challenging. ICON provides simple, evidence-based messages and practical coping strategies to help families manage these difficult moments with confidence.
Explore support, guidance and local resources available during ICON Week and learn how small actions can make a significant difference for babies and families.

Professional Advice Line - Change of Hours
Following recent feedback regarding our Professional Advice Line, we have taken time to listen carefully to your comments and consider how we can better support you.
You told us that the current operating hours can make it difficult for some professionals to access advice when needed. In response to this feedback, we have made the decision to extend the Advice Line hours from 8:30am–3:30pm to 8:30am–4:30pm. This change will tack place from Monday 23 February 2026.
We hope this additional hour will provide greater flexibility and enable more professionals to make contact for guidance and support.
Thank you for your continued feedback and partnership.
“As safeguarding partners, we pledge to protect children and young people across Gloucestershire by:
-
Tackling Child Sexual Abuse in all its forms, including online exploitation and emerging digital threats;
-
Responding to Harms Outside the Home, including missing children and adolescent domestic abuse;
-
Delivering proportionate, timely, and coordinated support.
Together, we commit to a joined-up approach that puts children’s safety and wellbeing first, addresses disproportionality, and amplifies the voice of every child.”
